NRC works in crucial stage

The on going process to update the National Register of Citizens reaches its crucial stage. From next week the forms would be available for all. In some areas, the officials would drop the forms at the door steps.

Senior officials deployed in the operation told Assam Times that the forms would be available free of cost for all citizens. They can fill up the form in English, Assamese and Bengali.

The NRC Seva Kendras, mostly, have already received the forms for distribution. The form is accompanied by a sheet of papers containing the guidelines to fill up the form. The form can also be downloaded. 

Each of the families would get one form each. But additional form is required if case the family members are more than 6. 

The draft is likely to be published by the end of October. The final NRC is expected to be published by January 31, 2016.
