Goswami, a Class X standard student has assured the managing committee that he would remain bachelor.

“It would be our pride to get another Goswami to succeed Haridev Goswami who left it following his decision to shun the bachelorship,” said Ratul Bhuyan. Bhuyan, a local resident said,” we are leaving no stone unturned to make the ceremony a grand success.”

Committee officials told Assam Times that Goswami’s forefathers hailed from Ahotguri monastery which no longer exists. Haridev Goswami shunned bachelorhood and started conjugal life paving the way for Prabin Goswami to head the monastery.
