One after another Congress leaders met high command apprising them of the prevailing political landscape in Assam hardly a year before the assembly polls.

State Congress president Anjan Dutta was the first to met Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi to discuss the party’s poll prospect. 

Then chief minister Tarun Gogoi met Gandhi to discuss the move to further expand his cabinet with three more ministers. 

Another Congress leader who called on Sonia Gandhi on Thursday was Akon Bora. The former minister apprised Gandhi of the party’s poll prospect. The Congress president is believed to have listened to him. But will she tell Gogoi to re induct in the ministry?

Tiger Carcass Found in Kaziranga National Park

The body of a tiger was discovered in the Horonbali Chapori area of Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve, located in Assam’s Biswanath district, on Monday. Government Extends AFSPA in Manipur Amidst Ethnic Clashes

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) today extended the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958, to six police stations across five districts in Manipur.
