Thunderstorm unleashing terror

A huge thunderstorm unleashed no less reign of terror in many parts of the state leaving 3 people dead in Nagaon and Darrang districts on Thursday wee hours.

Accompanied by heavy lightening, the thunderstorm took place in the wee hours ravaging many houses. Telephone and electricity network were left collapsed under the impact of the 30 minute long storm.

The uprooted trees blocked a huge portion of the National Highway in Moran, Bokakhat, Nagaon, Jorhat, Lakhimpur and Dhemaji. It took several hours for the authorities to clear the road to restore surface communication.
