Chief minister Tarun Gogoi is camping in New Delhi to hold a series of meeting with the party high command on a number of issues.
Gogoi who arrived in New Delhi on Wednesday evening, is scheduled to meet Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi where he would apprise them of the press poll scenario after the NDA government ensured the safe passage of the land deal pact in Parliament.
Sources told Assam Times in Delhi that Gogoi would discuss the strategies to ensure poll victory for the fourth consecutive term. He believes that the U turn on the land deal would alone be a good issue to mar BJP’s poll prospect.
Government’s fourth anniversary celebration and proposal for a brief expansion of his cabinet are also expected to figure in the meeting with the party high command.
Gogoi is prepared to invite party vice president Rahul Gandhi to the fourth anniversary slated for May 23 and 24.
