APCC team meets Sonia

An Assam Congress delegation met Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi on Monday amid speculation that a dozen of sitting MLAs are preparing to join BJP. 

Led by APCC president Anjan Dutta, the team apprised the party president of the prevailing political situation in the state a year ahead of the assembly polls.

Guwahati: The Assam government is building contact with the ministry of external affairs to evacuate as many as 100 people who are trapped in the Ukraine warzone.
