Storm hits Lakhimpur: 1 dead

One person was killed and many houses were ravaged when a powerful storm hit Lakhimpur district on Sunday. 

The storm began at 4.30 in the wee hours damaging over 200 houses apart from disrupting surface communication in a huge area of the district. 

The worst-hit area is Nahoroni where one person died in the storm. Identified as Khirud Bora, he died as the house collapsed on him under the impact of the calamity. 

It would require 3 or 4 days to restore communications.
