Pre poll violence claims 1, injured 6

Violence created resented among common publics where a BPF supporter lost live and other 6 received serious injuries late last night ahead two day of council election at East Dubinjhora area in Kokrajhar.

The incident took place at East Dubinjhora under Kokrajhar police station following supporters both from BPF and PCDR met a clash in the area late last night around 9 pm. 

A group of over hundreds supporters from PCDR rushed the BPF camp at Alufarm at East Dubinjhora village and attacked with lathi and sharp weapons where one person did and six others sustained injured, told one of injure person who is taking treatment at hospital. 

The deceased has been identified as Dilip Boro @Keteng (35) an ex BLT member. The injured were immediately rushed to MRM hospital. 

They have been identified as Daoharu Brahma, Swmkhwr Rabha, Ratan Narzary, Amar Kumar Basumatary, Biswambar Brahma and Samaren Narzary

BPF strongly condemned the incident and demanded nab of involved culprits. BPF alleged that PCDR was involved with incident. 

Former minister Pramila Rani Brahma condemned there incident and demanded culprits should be nabbed. 

Meanwhile, PCDR has denied the allegations involving with incident said that it was a unwanted incident ahead council poll. 

Rabiram Narzary, BPPF president and adviser of PCDR condemned the incident and demanded culprits should be booked. He has appealed all sections of communities to maintain peace and harmony in the region.
