Dharna for local recruitment

Once again ONGC is facing flak from a number of local organizations who have alleged a conspiracy to recruit outsiders in grade III and IV posts.

 

Talking to Assam Times in Nazira on Monday, the youths who representing a AASU, AJYCP, AAMSU, AYP and AATASU alleged that despite selection, the oil and gas giant is averse to recruit the selected local candidates against the vacant posts of grade III and IV.

 

They further alleged that a section of ONGC Assam Asset officials are in process to recruit the outside candidates only which said are dead opposed to.

 

“We wont allow ONGC to recruit the outsiders without considering the local candidates. We need our local youths to be recruited,” said a youth who was among one of those staged dharna in front of the ONGC Assam Asset office in Nazira on Monday

 

Another protester told Assam Times, “We demand 100 % recruitment of selected candidates in grade 3 and 4 posts. Otherwise, we are prepared to hit the streets.”

 

The protesters represented Upper Assam Muslim  Kalyan Parishad, AASU,AJYCP,AAMSU,Muslim Youva Parishad and AATASU

Later  UAMKP  submitted a memorandum to the Executive of the ONGC Assam Asset raising the demands

A two-days-long 15th annual conference of the Sivasagar district All Assam Students Union (AASU) was held at Maut Gaon, Simaluguri on on January 4-5. NGOs in Sivasagar district have come down heavily on ONC’s Assam Asset for improper utilization of the Corporate social responsibility fund. A section of local NGOs moved the higher authority with this complaint seeking their intervention. They blamed a circle senior ONGC officers alleging that they have a slew of hidden interest. They have been favouring a section of unknown organisations and NGOs.
