The ailment of several students after JE vaccination seems to have created panic among the school goers from Monday.
School authorities, students and guardians alike are reluctant to allow the students to be vaccinated to prevent JE outbreak.
“We are really worried. But we have to follow the government orders for vaccination. Students are scared of pot vaccination ailment. A section of the guardians are not interested. What can we do?” said a school teacher in Mongoldoi.
“I wont allow my boy to be administered JE vaccination. Who will take the responsibility if he falls ill?” said Tanu Barman in Nalbari who is opposed to JE vaccination in schools ?
“We are dead opposed to vaccination. Many of our students have fallen ill after being administered JE vaccination, “ said Saritha Begum in Udalguri who reads in Class X.
Notably nearly a dozen students Darrang district fell ill after vaccines for Japanese encephalitis on Monday. it took place at Dinanath Saharia High School at when doctors and nurses carried out vaccination among students.
