Cultural extravaganza enters final day

The Sonaram HS School Playground in Guwahati pulls huge crowd when a huge extravaganza showcasing the way of living of the ethnic communities enters the third and last day on Thursday.

Being organized by the directorate of cultural affairs the three day long Mahabahu Utsav is giving the people a rare opportunity to display the handloom, handicraft, agricultural tools, ethnic food, etc.

Talking to Assam Times organizers said “Apart from these, we are giving this opportunity for showcasing music, dance and performing folk arts aiming at promoting the cultural treasure trove of the state.”

The theme this time is Peace Through Culture and Creativity. Hundreds of people thronged the venue to visit  exhibitions, screening of films, laser animation show.

The focal point of attraction on Wednesday was the screening of feature films apart from workshops..The final day is throbbing with Sattriya dance, performance by new generation of singers, Bihu dance, apparel show.
