Beware of H1N1

In a bid to make the people aware o H1N1 infection, Pragati and Freelance Journalist Association organised a day long awareness programme in Nazira on Sunday.

Participating in the programme Dr Lobodev Goswami and Dr.Satyajit Dutta of Nazira Health Centre suggested the people to remain on alert.

The NGO distributed leaflets containing causes, symptoms and precautionary measures among the people.

Senior BJP leader of Nazira Dilip Hazarika was unanimously elected as the Chairman of the new municipal board of Nazira. ONGC Assam Asset fears major disruption in its functionings following the ongoing strike of the motor vehicle labour union. In a press release on Thursday, it said that it was ONGC is not directly involved with the demands raised by the Motor vehicle labour union. The Nazira unit of All Assam Minority Students’ Union took out a huge rally on Saturday in protest against Dr Subramaniam Swamy’s visit to the state.Hundreds of AAMSU activists hit the streets in Nazira shouting slogans against the BJP leader who allegedly has been trying to create communal clash in the state.  Talking to Assam Times the protesters said that they would allow Swamy to make any communal comments. They further asked the government not to allow the BJP leader to visit the state.
