Health camp concludes in press club

Most of the city based media persons have shown impressive health status when they attended a day-long general health check-up camp, organized by Dispur Hospital in Guwahati Press Club on Wednesday (11 March 2015).

Over hundred journalists with their close relatives participated in the health camp and received consultations from the attending doctors and got the benefits of blood sugar test, lipid profile, ECG and thyroid check. The attending doctors of Dispur Hospital including Dr Brajendra Lahkar (medicine), Dr TA Choudhury (nephrology), Dr Dippy Aggarwal (gynaecology), Dr PK Bhatta (orthopaedics), Dr Chandan Modak (cardiology) with Dr Abhishek Debnath, Dr HK Bordoloi and Dr Banajit Chaudhury checked the health status of the participants.

Dr Jayanta Bardoloi, chairman cum managing director of Dispur Hospitals Pvt Ltd, Ganeshguri, Guwahati-6, also attended the camp and declared concessional rate of treatment for media persons in his hospital. Dr Bardoloi also announced that the needy journalists would get free treatment at Dispur Hospital all along the year. Journalists in need may contact Ujjal Saikia, public relation officer of the hospital, to get the benefit of the scheme.

The nursing staff was led by Minu Chetia, where Eyasmin Sultana, Rina Buragohain, Pranita Hajda, Laita Baishya, Bonti Barua supported the physicians in the camp. The laboratory technicians included Md Sariful Haque, Pranjal Borah and Ariful Hussain. Similarly Mondip Borkataky, Deben Shah, Haren Das extended supports in arranging the camp.

Guwahati Press Club has also tied up with Dispur Hospitals Pvt Ltd for a Hepatitis B and Typhoid vaccination for the member-journalists in the next few weeks. Interested media persons are requested to contact the office of the press club for the date of vaccination and other relevant procedures.

In a tragic road accident that occurred in the Jalukbari area of Guwahati seven engineering students died at spot last night. According to reports, a group of 10 Assam Engineering College (AEC) students traveled in a scorpio car.
