Women's Day celebration

The International Women's Day is observed today at Bihubor.  It was organized by Bihubor Siloni Mahila Surakhya Sommittee Pragati Mahila Mancha -a unit of the NGO Pragati Nazira and Nazira

Mahkuma Mahila Somittee. In this connection a seminar on the global topic -'Make it Happen ' was held, where women right activist Dibyajyoti Gohain Gogoi, Anjalee Dutta,Nijumoni Gogoi etc.were present and delivered their lectures on the field of women empowerment. A sports competition was also organised and a colourful cultural procession was also taken out.

Now the Govt. is trying to create awareness among the people and take some preventive measures.Under the guidelines of ‘National Rural Drinking water quality monitoring and survillance programme the Public Health and Enginerring Department of Sivasagar and Nazira is conducting a few awareness camps in different places.At Santak and Bihubor where two water project were sealed by the PHED Nazira for presence of heavy quantity of arsenic.
