8 more held on Farid killing case

The number of youths arrested in connection with the Dimapur incident has gone up to 14. Senior police officials told Assam Times that eight more youths were held after identifying them in video footage on Saturday night from various places in the town. Operations are on to nab others who were involved in the inhuman attack on Syed Farid Khan whom the mob dragged out of the Dimapur Central Jail to be lynched on the street.

Police have earlier held 6 youths just 24 hours after the incident where a rape accused from Karimganj was killed in mob attack.  

The police officials refused to divulge theo details of the progress of the investigation before media saying that no one would be spared if found guilty.
