BSF celebrates Rongali Bihu

Border Security force (BSF) at its headquarter, Patgaon, Guwahati, celebrated Rongali Bihu on Monday, the 14th April last. P K Mishra, IG BSF, (Assam & Meghalaya and Mizoram & Cachar Frontiers), all officers and jawans with their families received the chief guest, Tarun Gogoi, Chief Minister of Assam, and other dignitaries. In his welcome speech he wished all the officers, jawans and their families 'a very happy and prosperous Assames New Year, The occasion was celebrated by performing the new year rituals followed by Assam Bihu dance performed by Bihu Toli and cultural programme given by BSF troops from different regions of the country. The jazz band of BSF added more glamour to the festival celebrations which played a number of songs.

The BSF celebrates all the Indian festivals with great enthusiasm and vigor without any religious bias. BSF celebrates Id and Holi with all the troops, which belonged to different religion, caste and creed. The occasion of Bihu festival became very festive because of the presence of the chief minister and other dignitaries. BSF officers, jawans and their families enjoyed the cultural programmes presented at BSF campus, Patgaon. The media persons both from electronic and print also participated in the Bihu celebrations.

It was a pleasure to have chief minister during celebration that in the end spoke encouraging words for BSF and also conveyed all the officers, jawans and their families good wishes.
