Security forces claimed to have captured a dreaded GNLA rebel along the Assam-Meghalaya border on Thursday.
Identified as Ramu Ch Marak, the most wanted Garo militant was held during a joint operation by army and police at Shantipur near Boko in Kamrup district in the morning.
Police further recovered a 9mm pistol along with a magazine, three rounds ammunition, one radio set, demand pads, AJRF stamps of the outfit group from his possession.
According to Assam Times Crime Investigative Bureau, the GNLA militant is believed to have revealed his involvement in extortion, kidnapping, supplying weapons and other acts of terrorism along the Assam-Meghalaya border.
