Sarania Kachari students' meet ends

The third biennial conference of Kalaigaon anchalik Sarania Kachari Students' Union and second biennial conference of Kalaigaon anchalik Sarania Kachari Democratic Woman Front have concluded at Kalaigaon on January 4 with two days programme.The joint conference was formally opened by Dandi Kumar Boro, president, receiption committee at 8 am on January 3 followed by other programmes including delegates session. Hoisting of flags by Bhabani Sarania and Minati Sarania marked the beginning of concluding days programme at 8 am on January 4. A grand colourful cultural rally was inaugurated by MU Ahmed,Officer In-Charge,Kalaigaon police station at 10 am.The open session was held at 1 pm which was presided over by Bhabani Sarania,president,Kalaigaon Anchalik Sarania Kachari Students' Union. Lakhi Narayan Sarania,president,Udalguri district Sarania Kachari Students' Union formally inaugurated the open session. On the occasion a souvenir was also released by Sonbar Barua, vice president,All Assam Sarania Kachari Student's Union. The souvenir has been edited by Kamal Prasad Sarma and Reba Barman.

Ramesh Chandra Das,chairman,Sarania Kachari Development Council,Assam and Mukunda Ram Choudhury,MLA,Kalaigaon atended the open session as the chief guest and distinguished guests respectively. Lankeswar Deka,president,All Assam Sarania Kachari Students' Union in his speech as the appointed speaker spoke about problems of five lakhs of Sarania Kachari people living in various areas of the state.He said they always had been working for the peaceful and friendly living with other ethinic groups of Assam. Girls of Pachim Tangla Sarania Kachari Sangha performed spectacular “Masmoria Nritya” at the end.
