Army chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag is on a visit to Assam on Saturday to take stock of the crackdown against NDFB-S four days after the militant outfit killed at least 70 people in Kokrajhar and Sonitpur district.
General Suhag met Union home minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi on Friday is arriving in Tezpur in the morning. Apart from holding high level meeting with top army officials to discuss the combing operation in the violence-hit districts, he is likely to meet chief minister Tarun Gogoi to review the situation later today.
Minutes after his meeting with Rajnath Singh, general Suhag gave hint of an intensified crackdown against the militant outfit who owed down at least 70 Adivasi people.
