Cartoon exhibition pulls huge crowd
An exhibition on ‘political cartoon and grass root comics’ by Amrith Basumatary pulls a considerable number of visitors in Kokrajhar after Deputy Commissioner Thaneswar Malakar opened the event at the Bodofa Cultural complex Chandamari on Friday.
Malakar lauded the cartoonist for his effort for his endeavour towards his art and in displaying political cartoons in Kokrajhar. He hoped that it would encourage more budding talents to come forward to take cartoons as a career.
Amrith Basumatary,a budding cartoonist with many cartoons to his credit has been active member and master trainer of the world comics India Network in Delhi, is an organization that promotes grassroots comics globally. Basumatary said that his works exemplifies a sharp political edge and wit evidenced in his lampoons.
He is a budding cartoonist who by talent and commitment is all set to new heights. He is the first cartoonist from the region to leave a mark in cartoonist from the region to leave a mark in cartooning and grass root comics in the national level.
