ABSU conference concludes in Kokrajhar

Kokrajhar ABSU conference concluded at Kazigaon Gurudev Kalicharan Nwgwr in Parbatjhora on Thursday. Bodoland University vice-chancellor Hemanta Kumar Baruah inaugurated the open session presided over by district ABSU president Lawrence Islary. Central president Promod Boro attended as chief guest.

In his inaugural speech, Baruah stressed the need of quality education for all round development. He said in his capacity as the Vice chancellor of the Bodoland University, he would try to work for the development of higher education in remote areas like Parbhatjhora.
Promod Boro called upon all to work for all round development of the society. He also stressed the need of an arms free society for all round development.

The ABSU president said that kidnapping, extortions, gamblings and killings has affected the Bodoland region from all sides including on quality education and call upon all to thwart anti-social elements present.

Recalling the contribution of Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma, the great social reformer among the Bodos, he said Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma has enlighten the Bodo society about the importance of education, and in many ways work for all round development of the society in the early 19th century.

Among those attended the Open Session includes Principal of Kokrajhar Law College Berlao K Karjee, BTC member Rabiram Narzary, president of Rabha Sahitya Sabha Jagat Kama among others as guests
