NE Literary fest from Dec 27

Come December 27. Guwahati is gearing up to hold the first ever North East Literary festival. Courtesy Assam Publication Board. Modeled as the Jaipur Literary Festival, the three days event will feature deliberations by writers of the country and abroad at the NEDFi House.

Prolific writers including Namita Gokhale, Mark Tully, DN Bezboruah, Arup Kumar Dutta, Jerry Pinto, Birendranath Datta, Dr Lakshmi Nandan Bora, Dr Nagen Saikia, EP Unny, Arupa Patangia Kalita are among those to be featured in the sessions.

The Guwahati Book Fair would get underway two days ahead of the grand festival at the Assam Engineering Institute playground in Chandmari. Poet Nilamoni Phukan will be honoured with a Lifetime Achievement award by the Publication Board Assam at the inauguration ceremony.
