The Centre will go ahead with the Indo-Bangladesh land swap deal which will help Delhi and Dispur deport the Bangladeshi immigrants. This was what Narendra Modi himself said on Sunday.
Addressing a huge rally of partymen in Guwahati before leaving for Imphal, the prime minister said that the deal with the neighbouring would fetch no less benefit for Assam. He said that his government would do it only for the interest of Assam and its people.
He, of course, said that he was honouring the sentiments the the people to finalise the deal. His announcement was much to the utter disappointment of a circle of BJP leader who have been dead opposed to the idea and criticised the erstwhile UPA government for the deal.
Apart from Union minister of state for home Kiren Rijiju, Union minister for sports Sarnaanda Sonowal, MPs Raen Deka, Bijoya Chakravartty, Rajn Gohain, Kamakhya Prasad Tasha, Rameswar Teli and BJP state president Siddharth Bhatacharya were also shared the dais.
