Bodo Sabha stages dharna in Delhi

The Bodo Sahitya Sabha staged mass dharna at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on Wednesday reiterating their demands. Hundreds of activists from BSS, ABSU, ABWWF, ABPTU, DBHA participated in the dharna raising banners, placards and shouted slogans demanding  early measures to fulfil their demands.

Then they submitted a memo to Prime Minister demanding creation of separate directorate for Bodo language, implementation of Bodo as an official language in the BTAD areas as per the Bodo Accord, 2003. They further demanded strong measures to ensure peace and in the BTAD areas.

BSS president Dr. Kameswar Brahma, Rajya Sabha MP, Biswajit Daimary Guneswar Goyary, Somnath Narjary  Mithinga Basumatary, Prasenjit Basumatary, Lakshman Sing Brahma, Jogeswar Brahma, Harimu Aafad were among those who participated in the dharna.

Police in its operational initiative able to apprehend three link men of the National Democratic Front of Boroland(Songbijit faction) militant outfit from Harjhora area under Bagribari PS in Kokrajhar district today. As many as 13 fishermen were arrested by Bhutan Royal Army on Tuesday inside deep jungle of Sarpang district of Bhutan while going illegally into the neighboring country.
