Bodo Sabha stages dharna in Delhi

The Bodo Sahitya Sabha staged mass dharna at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on Wednesday reiterating their demands. Hundreds of activists from BSS, ABSU, ABWWF, ABPTU, DBHA participated in the dharna raising banners, placards and shouted slogans demanding  early measures to fulfil their demands.

Then they submitted a memo to Prime Minister demanding creation of separate directorate for Bodo language, implementation of Bodo as an official language in the BTAD areas as per the Bodo Accord, 2003. They further demanded strong measures to ensure peace and in the BTAD areas.

BSS president Dr. Kameswar Brahma, Rajya Sabha MP, Biswajit Daimary Guneswar Goyary, Somnath Narjary  Mithinga Basumatary, Prasenjit Basumatary, Lakshman Sing Brahma, Jogeswar Brahma, Harimu Aafad were among those who participated in the dharna.

Three people are believed to have been killed in the name of witch-hunting in Kokrajhar.The incident took place on Thursday in Mongoljhar where the three people including a woman have been remaining untraced for the last 48 hours.Acting on the complaints, police have picked up 11 villagers on Saturday morning.
