Bhupen Hazarika Open Cultural Centre at Kokrajhar

People cutting across communities paid rich floral tributes to Sudhakantha Bhupen Hazarika on his third death anniversary which was also observed at Bhutiapara ground in Kokrajhar on Wednesday. 

Noted Bodo film actor Tikendrajit Narzary in the presence of BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary laid the foundation stone for the construction of Sudhakantha Dr Bhupen Hazarika Open Cultural Centre and Park at Bhutiapara under the vision of Chief Minister’s dream project. 

The park will be constructed at an amounting of Rs. 25 lakhs where memorials of Sudhakantha shall be preserved. 

BTC Chief Mohilary inaugurated the cultural get-together with the lighting of the lamp. 

In his speech Mohilary said that the Sudhakantha’s contribution to the cultural and literary sphere is indispensable and that his work has influenced one and all. The event was marked by a multi cultural showcase by troupes a cultural rally by students.
