BTC distributes vehicles under BVY

BTC executive member for Transport Department James Basumatary distributed Tata Wingers and Auto Rickshaws to boost alternative employment in a function held at the BTC Secretariat Complex at Bodofa Nwgwr in Kokrajhar on Wednesday. 

About 200 Tata Wingers and Auto Rickshaws were given away to educated unemployed youths of ten sub-divisions in four districts of the council under Bodoland Vikash Yajana (BVY) through the Chief’s Discretionary Fund. 

BTC EM Basumatary said that the council distributed the vehicles among the unemployed youths to supplement income generation and employment in the society under BVY. 

Earlier agriculture-tractors were distributed by the council.

BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary laid foundation stones of Directorate of the Economic & Statistics and Directorate of Labour & Employment office at Baghichagaon, Kokrajhar  on Wednesday.  The Economic & Statistics office would be constructed at a cost of one crore under 2016-17 financial year while the Labour & Employment office building would be constructed amounting of 1.42 crores under 2016-17 BTC financial year.  BTC deputy chief Kampa Borgoyary, former minister and MLA Chandan Brahma, BTC executive members Rajib Brahma, Ganesh Kochary were among others present on the function.

Security forces belonging to Police, Army and CRPF apprehended a link man of the NDFB-S in a joint operation at Shantipur area under Kachugaon PS in Kokrajhar district today.
