Football: KSPC take on Coochbehar body

Kargaon Sayama Sports Club in Kokrajhar are taking on Coochbehar Municipality Corporation in the second match of the 15th Bodoland Martyrs Gold Cup football championship at Dhawliguri ground in Kokrajhar on Monday.

Gossaigaon Global Sports Academy defeated Barhungka Athletic Club in Kokrajhar by 2-1 goals in the inaugural match on Sunday. Biswajit Swargiary of Global scored his first goal in 51st minutes of second half against Barhungka. Paniram Mushahary of Barhungka netted lone goal against Global in 68th minutes while Lwitw Basumatary of Global again netted another goal in 75th minutes which led the team to win by 2-1 goals in the match.

BTC executive member Reoreoa Narzihary opened the championship in the presence of BTC executive member for sports and youth welfare department Mono Kumar Brahma.

Kokrajhar District Sports Association (KDSA) and Ex-BLT Welfare Society jointly organized the match in memory of Bodoland martyrs who sacrificed their lives in Bodoland movement.

The winner of the championship would be awarded Gold trophy along with cash Rs. 50,000 and runners up team would be awarded trophy and cash Rs.25,000.
