The Bajrang Dal sponsored 12 hour Assam bandh ended in the evening disrupting normal life across the state on Friday. Roads wore a deserted look. Shops and markets, schools and colleges remained closed under the impact of the bandh called in protest against Badruddin Ajmal’s alleged nexus with fundamentalist groups in Bangladesh.
Government offices hardly had any functionings as the employees, mostly, could not attend the offices because of skeleton bus services in Guwahati.
Police detained at least 150 bandh supporters across the state when they tried to block the vehicle movement by burning tyres on the roads.
