VDP Bhawan inaugurated

BTAD Inspector General of Police(IGP),Dr L R Bishnoi inaugurated the newly constructed VDP Bhawan at Kokrajhar Sadar police station complex in the presence of high police officers on Tuesday.  It was constructed from police welfare fund for the welfare of VDP men in the district.

Hospital wall kills boy

A seven-years-old boy was succumbed to hospital following wall collapsed at Ghoskata Korida Madati sub-centre today in Kokrajhar district. According to family source, the boy identified as Bhim Brahma, son  of Bircharan Brahma of Korida Madati village was received serious injuries following wall collapsed along the newly constructed wall at Korida Madati sub-centre  this afternoon around 1 pm when he was playing with his friends. He was immediately rushed to Kokrajhar Rup Nath Brahma civil hospital for treatment and succumbed to hospital.

NDFB(S) cadre killed

Two hard core cadre of the National Democratic Front of Boroland-Songbijit faction (NDFB-S) were killed in an encounter with security forces on Sunday at North Auzarguri under Serfanguri police station in a joint operation launched by police and army in Kokrajhar district.  Based on a tip-off about presence of militant outfits, security forces launched a joint operation against militant cadres where heavy exchange of fire was held and two cadres were killed on the spot by around 6 am in the morning.  They were identified as Jwngswrang Basumatary alias Ladai and Sanjib Basumatary. Link man arrested

Security forces from Police and Army nabbed a link man of NDFB-Songbijit faction in a joint operation from Mainaguri under Serfanguri PS in Kokrajhar district on Saturday.  The link man was identified as Ila Narzary of Belgudi village. He was involved with money collection and information gathering to the militant outfit organization.  A country made pistol along with live bullets recovered from him. 

Health camp at Saralpara

A total of 640 patients from greater Saralpara thronged the medical and awareness camp to receive medical check-up on Saturday along the Indo-Bhutan border of Kokrajhar district, was organized by Army unit of Red Horns Division. Madhav Prasad Sarma, Deputy Commissioner, Kokrajhar inaugurated the camp. The camp conducted medical check-up on various which included TB detection, Malaria detection, Dental check-up as well as distributed free of cost medicines to the needy patients. NSLA cadre arrested

Security forces belonging to police and army apprehended a senior cadre of National Santhali Liberation Army (NSLA) in a joint operation launched today at Shiyalmari area under Serfanguri police station in Kokrajhar. The arrested cadre was identified as Enverest Tudu alias Jambua of Srirampur. He was involved with extortion,terrorist activites in the region. A pistol, live bullet and a mobile handset was recovered from him.

Bike lifters arrested

Police arrested two gang of Bike lifter from Gutipara area under Bagribari police station in Kokrajhar district today. A police team of Bagribari police station able to arrest the bike lifter with stolen Bajaj Pulsar 150 cc bike bearing registered no AS- 19G-1932 from a Assam police constable Gulzar Hussain of Salbari village. BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary has claimed that the alliance BPF-BJP would defeat the ruling Congress party in the upcoimng election. Mohilary while speaking the Bodoland Day celebrtaion in Kokrajhar on Wednesday said, ‘BPF with BJP’s help, BTAD will witness lots of development activities if the Centre blinks. BTAD Economic & Statistics and Labour & Employment offices to get new building

BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary laid foundation stones of Directorate of the Economic & Statistics and Directorate of Labour & Employment office at Baghichagaon, Kokrajhar  on Wednesday.  The Economic & Statistics office would be constructed at a cost of one crore under 2016-17 financial year while the Labour & Employment office building would be constructed amounting of 1.42 crores under 2016-17 BTC financial year.  BTC deputy chief Kampa Borgoyary, former minister and MLA Chandan Brahma, BTC executive members Rajib Brahma, Ganesh Kochary were among others present on the function.
