Adequate central fund to contain flood

The Centre is for Rs 1,000 crore fund to help Assam tide over the flood fury and to manage the post flood situation. This was what Union minister Sarbananda Sonowal said a day after Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi demanded. Talking to reporters in Guwahati on Friday, the Union minister of state for sports the Centre has no dearth of fund for flood relief and to build damaged infrastructure. He said, "we have asked the state government for a report on the loss of human lives, livestock, houses and crops. We have full faith in Tarun Gogoi that he will send a detailed report to the Centre,". "We are not indulging in politics. It is not the time for that. This is the time to help," Sonowal said.
