It's Auxesis time in DU

Dibrugarh University is in festive mood these days, all set to celebrate Auxesis, their uniquely themed annual techno-cultural cum management festival. Students are all excited and gearing up for this 4 days mega event which is slated to start on 19th of this month concluding on the 22nd. With a line up which boasts of ‘Light a smile’ –a social initiative programme, ‘Dibrugarh Run’- a marathon event, and ‘Nakshatra’ an eye donation awareness camp, organizers of the event feel confident and Kaushik Karan, the student convener believes this to be a perfect start.

Festival theme for this year ‘Technology Built in Brotherhood’ has generated enough pre event buzz amongst the student community and is aimed at promoting technology and innovative ideas amongst the masses. Given the scope of the theme it seems like a good platform for showcasing talent, skills and knowledge for upcoming engineers, entrepreneurs, innovators and technocrat of the region. Technical workshops, lecture series and industrial conclave are scheduled for fostering the environment of innovation, featuring lectures by Varunoday Sharma, Resident Chief Executive of OIL, Duliajan and Probhunath Prasad, M.D BCPL, Anil Kr Gupta from IIM Ahmedabad, and Akash Gautam motivational speaker from Delhi etc.

There are several other events in Auxesis 14 that are generating huge interest in the students, like; Trivial Paradox- a national level open quiz competition, Ransack – a rock show competition, Kallisteia- a fashion show, a rock performance by Providence band from Mumbai.  An inter-university science competition named Exhivilla will also be organized on the theme of this year festival. With such vast and interesting programmes packed in this year Auxesis, the anticipation in the campus is overwhelming.

The Meiteis of Manipur residing in Mizoram have reportedly started leaving the state due to safety concerns prompted by a recently-viral video.
