A local court in Guwahati remanded Anjali Das Thakuria to CBI custody for 24 hours on Tuesday a day after the country's premier investigation agency arrested assistant with the regional passport office on bribery charges.
Before that, the CBI produced her before the magistrate who denied her bail and remanded her to CBI custody till Wednesday. She would be produced before the court again on Wednesday before sending her to jail.
CBI sleuths arrested the personal assistant of the regional passport officer from her chamber on Monday when she accepted Rs 2000 from an applicant.
