BJP wants central intervention

State BJP on Wednesday demanded Centre’s intervention to solve the flood problems alleging Dispur’s failure to deal with the perennial problem. Talking to reporters during his visit to Morigaon, party president Siddharth Bhattacharjee alleged that all flood and erosion protection schemes had failed to protect people in the state from the perennial deluge. He demanded that the Central Water Resource Department chalk out new schemes to permanently solve the flood and erosion problem of the state. He accused the state government of indulging in gross corruption in implementing flood control schemes and demanded direct intervention of the Centre to tackle the problem.
