Tiwa CEM’s effigy burnt in Raha

Tiwa Students on Friday burnt the effigy of Rama Kanta Dewri in Raha to protest the recent attack on two of their colleagues. The students of Raha and Barapujia thronged the National Highway at Raha and burnt the effigy of the TAC chief. Led by ATSU president Prahlad Mosrong, the students further demanded Dewri’s arrest in this connection. Notably, the student body on Thursday called for the 12 hour central Assam bandh in this connection.

Nagaon Police last night arrested two youth in connection with keeping some illegal arms and ammunitions with them. The two were arrested from Dhakkapatti area of Nagaon.
