LPG pipeline blast in Moranhat

RHISHAV GOGOI, MORANHAT: At least three people died and over 30 others sustained critical  injury when an Oil India Limited-owned gas pipeline exploded in Moran along the Sivasagar-Dibrugarh inter district border on Monday.

The incident, which took place under mysterious circumstances, took place at noon leaving a massive fire in the area.

Over 50 houses were reduced to ashes within an hour. Twenty fire tenders from Dibrugarh and Sivasagar have been trying to bring the situation under control.

Oil India Limited authorities told Assam Times that the reason is yet to be known. Nobody has so far claimed the responsibility. The injured have been rushed to Assam Medical College Hospital in Dibrugarh.
