16 injured in Tinsukia blast

As many as sixteen people have been injured while a powerful bomb exploded in Tinsukia town at around 1 pm on Saturday. According to information, the blast took place at the busy GNB Road in front of a grocery. The injured people have been rushed to the hospital. High level police and civil officials have arrived in the spot to start operation. Meanwhile, one more crude bomb have been recovered just before a while. Details are awaited.

Despite hectic political confabulation, the ruling Congress and the opposition parties have yet to finalise candidates for the upcoming Rajya Sabha polls for 2 seats from Assam. Altogether 10 persons died as the bus carrying them collided it's head on a truck in Tinsukia district of upperAssam on Sunday. The incident took place at around 3 in the afternoon at the busy NH 37 in Digboi. Four persons died on the spot while 5 others died at the OIL Hospital. Besides, 20 others have been rushed to the hospital immeditely after the accident.

A moderate tremor struck Assam and it's neighbouring states unleashing panic among the people on Friday. The quake took place at 4:53 in the wee hours when a section of the people came out to the streets in fear. The intensity of the tremor is still not known.
