No trace of kidnapped engineer

 Security forces are fanning in Dima Hasao district in search of Niran Kumar Mahajan a day after a group of unidentified miscreants kidnapped the construction company manager on Tuesday.

There is trace of the Simplex Infrastructure Ltd official during the last 24 hours. No militant outfit has so far owned up the responsibility after the top official was kidnapped at 73 Point area.

Police officials told Assam Times that Mahajan had no security guards when he was travelling in the area. 

Notably, the incident took place at 12-30 on Tuesday when the gunmen waylaid his vehicle and took him away at gunpoint. The driver Hari Das was released.
