Gogoi averse to budget benefit!
Union minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Saturday tore apart Tarun Gogoi alleging that the chief minister was hardly interested in the budget benefit.
Talking to reporters in Guwahati, Sonowal said that central funds are available for the state. But he alleged that the Congress government has not evinced keen interest to avail off the benefits.
He said that of the total 'Rs 63,000 crore fund earmarked in the budget for 2014-15 for North East, Assam was supposed to claim a huge amount to the tune of Rs 20,000 crore. “But the Chief Minister has not motivated the officials to work day and night to ensure optimum utilisation of the funds for the maximum development of the state,” Sonowal said.
Of course, it can get more funds provided they are able to come with development schemes but they must be able to utilise the funds by the end of the financial year in March 2015.
