The vociferous protest against the big dams at Gerukamukh has hardly reached the Centre.
DoNER minister VK Singh has made it plain and simple on Saturday the protest against the 2,000 MW lower Subansiri hydroelectric power project were never justified.
Singh, who is on a two days visit to Guwahati on Saturday said that the power project will help the entire north eastern region tide over the power crisis.
He said that there are is propaganda at work against the projects. But in the same breath his own assessment is that it was not going to cause any danger.
The DoNER minister said the people were ill informed about the benefits of the project.
According to him, that was why, it was hanging in balance for the last couple of years.
