Eviction to go on to clear Guwahati

Officials of GMDA, GMC and water resources departments are carrying out eviction drive for the fourth consecutive day in Guwahati on Wednesday.

Led by executive magistrates, the specially setup teams has been demolishing illegal huts and big buildings in the wetlands and hill tops to make the entire city free of encroachments.

Talking to Assam Times, Kamrup(metro) district administration officials made it clear that the eviction drive would not halt till  the city is made free from encroachments.   

A section of the residents welcomed the move while some others opposed it saying that the poor lots are the victims.
