ABSU organises special convention
A special convention has been organised by the All Bodo Student Union (ABSU) to discuss on various issues related to the Bodos and other tribal communities in the state, including on Bodoland, protection of tribal belts & blocks, illegal migrants and on education problem,which has begun from today at Patgaon in Kokrajhar with two days programme.
Promod Boro,president of the ABSU said that the special convention discused discuss on permanent solution to Bodoland issue, land issue, illegal migrants and education related issues among others.
Boro said the state government has neglected the rights and interest of the tribal and other indigenous people. ‘The rights and interests of the indigenous communities should be looked after for good, protection of tribal belts and blocks, eviction of illegal encroachers of tribal land, inquiry into the illegal mutation cases in tribal belts and blocks areas, he said.
He said the tribal people were forced to struggle, launch movement for the safeguard of themselves, their culture, language. ‘There is need of unity among tribal unity. Not only among tribal but also time has come for unity among indigenous groups’,he said.
