The Assam government on Friday has asked for 6 more additional forces from the centre to deal with the Karbi militants who killed Nityananda Goswami in their captivity.
The decision was taken when chief minister Tarun Gogoi took stock of the law and order situation at meeting with DGP Khagen Sarma and Chief secretary JS Khusla in Dispur.
Gogoi further asked DGP Sarma to launch a massive operation against UPLA and KPLT in the hills district who have been unleashing terror for the last few months.
Sources told Assam Times that Dispur prefers cobra forces to other central reserve forces.
