Pathsala soaks in joy for Rhishi

Pathsala area in Barpeta district soaks in joy when Rhishikesh Kalita SEBA on Wednesday announced him the tenth position holder in the HSLC examination held in February.   

The brilliant student of Bajali HS School and the second son of Dipesh Kalita and Mamoni Kalita hoped that he would be able to get a position.

Talking to Assam Times, he said that he studied regularly and that he had to take help of tuition in his preparation for the HSLC examination which was conducted by SEBA in February.

Rhishikesh is interested in science stream. As soon as the good news spread at 9 in the morning local residents, school teachers, friends and relatives thronged his house in Lachitnagar and welcomed him for his outstanding performance.  

Later he went to the school to be greeted by his teachers and friends.

In yet another incident of human-elephant conflict, two persons lost their lives in the Goalpara district of Assam today. Bhaturam Rabha (45) and Mithun Mallick (22) had been trampled by wild pachyderm at Govindpur in Rangagara. Residents say that the two were trampled by a loner elephant.
