Over 50 school goers managed to escape tragic death in Guwahati when a bus carrying the students caught fire on Wednesday.

The incident took place at Nineth Mile area in Guwahati where a city bus carrying at least 50 students was on its way to the CRPF Kendriya Vidyalaya.

The bus driver and his assistant noticed smoke bellowing from the engine and stopped the bus at a stone’s throw distance from the school. Local residents in large number came out to their rescue.
