Death anniv of UN Brahma

The All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) recalled contributions of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma, former president of ABSU towards Bodos and down trodden communities on his 24th death
anniversary being observed here at Dotma Tulungpuri on Thursday in Kokrajhar.

The anniversary was organized by Upendra Nath Brahma Trust (UNBT) in association with Kokrajhar district committee and Dotma anchalik committee of ABSU.

Rwngwra Narzary, Chairman of UNBT hoisted the union flag in presence of huge gatherings of student and publics and paid rich floral tribute to the tomb of Brahma.Narzary said late Brahma had contributed lots for the development of Bodo as well down trodden communities in his life.

BTC administration has also observed the death anniversary of late Brahma at BTC Secretariat Bodofa Nwgwr.BTc executive members Derhasat Basumatary and Reoreoa Narzihary garlanded to the tomb of late Brahma.

Mentioned be made that Brahma died on May 1,1990 and borne on March 31,1956.

Shock and anger in Kokrajhar

Utter shock and anger seem to have gripped Kokrajhar a day after three members of a family were killed in the name of witch hunting.The incident took place at Borjhora village in  Monglajhora area under Bogribari police station  where the trio remained clueless.Police have so far arrested 13 persons in this connection after two bodies were exhumed from a jungle.  The entire incident came to light after the victim's youngest son, who is a constable with 7th AP Bn got to the incident . 3 missing in Kokrajhar

Three people are believed to have been killed in the name of witch-hunting in Kokrajhar.The incident took place on Thursday in Mongoljhar where the three people including a woman have been remaining untraced for the last 48 hours.Acting on the complaints, police have picked up 11 villagers on Saturday morning. They are being interrogated to ascertain the truth.

Woman commits suicide

A woman committed suicide by lying before a moving train in Kokrajhar on Thursday.Identified as Jaya Saki, the 40 year old woman committed suicide on the rail track near the Gauranga bridge in the afternoon.  She is believed to have committed suicide because of domestic affairs hours after her girl eloped with a youth.
