Altogether 15,21,177 voters are expected to exercise their franchise in the ongoing voting in Nagaon to decide the fate of seven candidates in the final phase of the Lok Sabbha polls on Thursday.
Voters in large number are waiting outside altogether 1902 booths to exercise their franchise. Heavily guarded by the security forces, the polling officials have been trying to ensure free and fair polls.
The crucial constituency is locked in a triangular contest among BJP Congress and AIUDF. Sitting MPP and BJP candidate Rajen Gohain is facing a tough contest with Congress candidate Junjunali Baruah while AIUDF leader Dr Aditya Langthasa is certainly make a dent the BJP and Congress strongholds.
Counting will take place on May 16.
