Three persons have been injured and properties worth several lakhs have been destroyed when a huge storm lashes the Rangia and Chaygaon in the outskirt of Guwahati on Tuesday.
The storm lashed Chayagaon at around 4 in the evening where over 100 houses were damaged, hundreds of trees were uprooted along with telephone and electric posts disrupting surface transport communication.
The worst affected area is Bamungaon where a women sustained injury as her houses collapsed under the impact of the storm.
Nearly 100 houses collapsed when yet another storm hit hardly Rangia where normal life remained disrupted for several hours.
Vita roads and bridges remained blocked after the storm uprooted trees, telephone and electric posts.
