In yet another revelation that seems to have touched off seismic waves of reaction, BJP is trying to strike a deal with a circle of Bodo insurgents in the run up to the Lok Sabha polls.
A section of senior Opposition party leaders have already held several rounds of secret talks with the insurgents some of whom have already come back to the national mainstream.
Sources told Assam Times that the latest round of talks with NDFB-S held in Bhalukpung on Saturday where the Bodo militants are believed to have agreed to help the party win the polls.
Tezpur candidate RP Sarma and Bijay Gupta were understood to have attended the meeting at an undisclosed location along the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border.
NDFB-S is involved in a number of incidents of murder, explosion, kidnap and extortion. The outfit recently killed Sonitpur district additional SP Guljhar Hussain along with 2 other policemen at an ambush near Dhekiajuli.
