Waiting for Rahul Gandhi

Amid a massive security arrangement, people thronging in thousands in Biswanath Chariali to attend Rahul Gandhi’s rally on Monday.

Security forces are fanning across the district to thwart any move by NDFB-S militants to disrupt Gandhi’s poll rally to campaign for Tezpur party candidate Bhupen Bora.

Senior party leaders told Assam Times that security forces are guarding hundreds of buses deployed by the party to ferry people to the rally at the Kamala Kanta Khetra.

Gandhi is scheduled to arrive in Tezpur at 11 in the morning. Then he would straightly leave for Biswanath Charilai to hold the rally. He would fly to Dibrugarh at 1-30 in the afternoon.      

Massive security arrangement is required in the entire district in view of NDFB-S militants’ 12 hour bandh to oppose Rahul Gandhi’s visit.

Guwahati : The United Liberation Front of Something has released Ram Kumar four months after they kidnapped the private oil exploration firm in Arunachal Pradesh. Kumar was released at an undisclosed location along the Indo-Myanmar border in Nagaland on Monday wee hours.  Kumar was kidnapped along with Pranab Kumar Gogoi on December 21,2021 whom they freed on Saturday.  ULFA-I took the duo to their captivity claiming Rs 20 crore and in February the insurgents threatened to kill Kumar and Gogoi for failing to meet the demand. Guwahati : The heat and dust of the electioneering for the final phase of Assam Assembly polls have ended on Sunday. Union home minister Amit Shah held a rally in Sorbhog in the morning and left two others unattended in Bhawanipur and Jalukbari following the insurgent attack on central police forces in Jharkhand early morning.
